Kingston Heath

Kingston Heath, located in the heart of the famous Sandbelt of Melbourne, has long held a place amongst the top echelon of golf courses in Australia and is firmly entrenched within the top 20 in the world.

Laid out on a relatively small and flat piece of land, the course makes use of clever routing and superb green sites flanked by iconic Sand Belt bunkers that dictate the strategy of each hole. Over the passage of time, golf courses continue to evolve and the course can deviate quite significantly from the original intent of the course architect.

As consulting architects for the club, our work at Kingston Heath has focussed on restoring and maintaining the original design intent that made Kingston Heath great.  Our role also extended to the creation of the spare hole, referred to as the 19th (pictured left), which opened for play in 2018. Kingston Heath is currently ranked 3rd in Australia and within the top 20 in the world.

Mike Cocking has been the consulting architect at Kingston heath since the mid 2000’s and continues to advise the course with OCM.
